Jameson Distillery Bow St
Dublin’s Best Known Whiskey Distillery
For any whiskey fans, the Jameson Distillery is an essential part of any trip to Dublin. As one of the oldest buildings in Smithfield Square, the Bow Street distillery has played witness to the many changes in the area – ever since John Jameson first started whiskey production in the building in 1870 – and remains a central presence to this day. The Jameson family has always been committed to providing unforgettable experiences, alongside, of course, the production of great tasting whiskey.
The new look Jameson Distillery Bow St. carries on its founder’s ambition by offering three varied but fully guided experiences: Bow St. Experience, The Whiskey Makers, and The Whiskey Shakers – all of which have a firm focus on immersive storytelling. You’ll be invited to touch, smell, and most importantly, taste Jameson in the original Bow St. Distillery buildings. They all of course feature the stunning backdrop of the remodelled distillery- with its clever juxtaposition of slick surfaces, clean and modern architecture with the traditional and historical distillery’s features.
An exciting part of the Whiskey Makers & Whiskey Shakers experiences is a visit to a live Maturation Warehouse, where you’ll get to taste Jameson straight from the barrel. The only way to get closer to the source would be to have John Jameson guide you through the distillery himself!
For those planning to venture beyond Dublin, Jameson’s production distillery is located in Midleton, Cork and visiting both the Bow Street and Midleton distilleries is guaranteed to give you a very well rounded insight into every aspect of whiskey production, tasting and marketing!
