Whelan’s

Lively local concert venue, made famous by Hollywood

 

Whelan’s was first established in 1989 and has since become one of Ireland’s most important venues for catching both local and international bands, as well as one of the best indie night clubs in Dublin. Whether you are looking for a lively gig, or a relaxed drink in its 1950’s living-room style Parlour, Whelan’s is the perfect place to spend an evening in Dublin.

Although you may not know it, there’s a good chance that you are already familiar with Whelan’s. In the 2007 romantic film P.S. I Love You starring Hillary Swank we get to see both Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Gerard Butler grace its stage, with their renditions of Galway Girl.

Whelan’s is located on Wexford Street, less than 10 minutes up the road by foot. It is right in the heart of Dublin’s night-life district, making for an excellent night out.
